CCP Zulu: Your blog is so far off the mark to the actual topics the community has brought forward that it is clear you, as a representative of CCP, are either not listening to the player base or simply choosing to ignore us like some three year old child with their hands over their ears yelling "lalalalalalala, I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" and assuming that makes it all better.
Nobody in this community cares if you want to put a pair of pants on the NeX that "look cool" and charge $1,000 real life dollars for them. However, if those pants can suddenly make a brand new player be capable of flying a Titan or shooting 10% faster rate of fire, or have an increase of 10% to shields across the board, now the community has a problem with those pants.
If you want to charge $500 bucks a pop for a pink elephant that walks around the CQ and cleans up after a player's avatar, by all means knock yourself out... but if you make it so that that elephant starts being capable of orbital strikes... well then obviously you went on that acid trip for pink elephants a bit to long.
The player base of Eve, while often immature and foolish, are not actually stupid. Perhaps CCP needs to step off their island and do some corporate research at just how mighty and powerful a player base can be when they unite behind a specific cause. Many other games have fallen by the way side due to their inability to listen to their player base. You are a GAME company, you have to have people in order for that GAME to keep going. No people, no game, no money!
Is Greed Good? No, not ever... if you think greed is good than you are ignorant. Profit, is good.. profit is acceptable, profit is expected... but greed causing things to fall apart.
There is an old saying that goes "You can't rob Peter, to pay Paul." In other words, you can't screw over your Eve players to gain enough money to pay for WoD or DUST... if you want an honest opinion about those things.. drop the WoD IP cause if you can't keep Eve players happy you'll never keep true PnP players of WoD happy and DUST being ONLY on PS3 isn't going to sustain you a large enough player base to do anything with especially if Eve dies because you ignored those of us already here.
If you can't take care of the clients you have now, you'll never keep the new clients you are trying so desperately to find somewhere else. The grass is never actually greener on the only side, it is simply an illusion because you aren't the one having to take care of that grass.
The sad thing about all this is had CCP simply came out and said you were going to raise your monthly sub fee by a couple bucks a month most people wouldn't have cancelled accounts over a couple dollars. But now that you've gone and done this don't expect to be able to go back. You've shown your hand, whether by accident or not, the cards are on the table and as unforgiving as a gunslinger at a poker table is when they find an Ace up the sleeve of the guy across from them, the gaming community as a whole does not take kindly to being treated like fools, lied to their faces and having the attitude that we'll just get over it eventually isn't helping.
Eve is your game CCP, but like the child who wants to change the rules to the game in the middle of the game because the outcome isn't going their way and their excuse is that it is their ball, finds nobody wants to play with them... you too CCP will find that with this attitude and situation you have created you won't have anyone else to play with either.
I normally resub all my accounts in either 3 or 6 month blocks.. I have 6 accounts and they all come due in the next couple weeks, I'm not saying I am going to close them all out right this second if you don't fix the game my way, but I will say the moment Eve has ONE single item in it that can be bought from the NeX that impacts the game in an unfair way unless everyone else spends the same amount of additional money through one form or another I pull all 6 accounts!
